
⮚Dr. Boopalan Ganapathy is an Associate Professor in the School of Electronics Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nādu, India. He was awarded a Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering by VIT in 2020.
⮚During his doctoral research, he analyzed the possibility of using metamaterials for wireless power transfer.
⮚He earned an M.S degree in ICT from MIT, Anna University, Chennai in 2002, Bachelor of Engineering (ECE) degree from Madras University in 1997, and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering at CPT, Taramani in 1994.
⮚He has 13 years of experience in teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
⮚Also instrumental in establishing lab on embedded systems and upgrading Microwave lab at VIT from 2009.
⮚He worked at Pico Mega Design Labs, Chennai for 7 years as a Sr. Design Engineer. During his tenure from 2002 – 2009 part of the team in PMDL that designed, developed and providing solution for RFID products ranging from Low Frequency to Radio Frequency (both passive and active).
⮚ In 2006, he involved in building a system for wireless energy transfer at 2.45 GHz for Honeywell, Bangalore.
⮚He has been a member of the team that developed Real Time GPS signal simulator for CABS, Bangalore during 1998 – 2002.
⮚His areas of interest are the following: reconfigurable intelligent surface, antennas, active and passive circuits, metasurfaces, plasmonics, wireless energy harvesting for IoT and Wireless power transfer.
⮚He has published more than 15 publications that includes SCI journal articles, refereed conference papers. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and post-graduate projects and thesis for over 13 years.
⮚He is a member of IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society (AP-S).
